I loved the initial Google Nexus tablet. The Nexus 7 is small, easy to carry, powerful and most importantly, it is affordable. There were some obvious issues with the first generation, but that is to be expected. Google along with Asus are prepping to launch the next generation Nexus 7 tablet in May at Google’s I/O.
Asus has been making a lot of moves this year to become one of the leading tablet manufacturers out there. With some interesting concepts like the Asus Padfone and the Asus Taichi ultrabook, the company has vast experience in the field. The new Google tablet will most likely be shipping with the same 7-inch display, however, we are likely to see an upgrade in its screen resolution.
As far as more detailed specs go for the new Nexus 7 tablet, we don’t know much. We will be seeing a variant using a Qualcomm chip and present us with 3G connectivity, but the rest of the details are yet unknown. This new and improved (hopefully) Google tablet will set you back a mere $149 or $199 depending on model and personally I find that absolutely awesome.
Gone are the days when you would save for months to get a tablet, since this new Nexus 7 tablet from Google might just do the trick. Are you excited? Because I sure am!
