Samsung spent well over $400 million last year on marketing alone and it seems that they kick off this year in style as well. With the Samsung Galaxy S4 release closing in the company has released four new ads showing off some of the device’s strengths and features. With the device packing some of the best benchmark results out there, marketing is the only thing left for the company to take care off.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 ads run along a different path than what we saw in the past. These new spots are not mocking iPhone devices or try to be gimmicky but instead show off some of the new features. We saw the Sound Shot, Group Play and S Translator in action in 30 second ads. There is another 1 minute long commercial that takes a more classic approach revealing the device in greater detail.
Picking up one of the best smartphones for 2013 should be easy seeing as we also got a glimpse at the first benchmark results for the Exynos 5 Octa chip powered Galaxy S4. As such, at the moment we have three variants of the device one with the Exynos 5 Octa chip running at 1.6 GHz and lacking LTE connectivity, one with the Snapdragon 600 chip running at 1.9 GHz with LTE and another variant with the Exynos 5 Octa running at 1.8 GHz per core and LTE.
The benchmark is showing off the Samsung Galaxy S4 with the Exynos 5 Octa running at 1.6 GHz and scoring 28,018 points in AnTuTu. To give you some perspective, the version running the Qualcomm chip scores anywhere between 23,000 and 25,000. We might be very well looking at one of the most powerful smartphones in 2013 with chances being that we will see the first device to break the 30,000 point mark.
