Asus showed off its Transformer AiO concept at MWC, but we now finally know more about the device. The company gave some more details and those of you who think that a 10.1-inch tablet is too small, then you will be happy to know that you are looking at the largest tablet on the market.
The 18.4-inch behemoth doubles as a desktop and a tablet. When in desktop mode the specifications of the Asus Transformer AiO are quite something:
- Intel Core i5-3350P processor
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M GPU with 2 GB of VRAM
- 8 GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600MHz
- 1 TB HDD for storage
- DVD optical drive
- 1 MP front-facing webcam
- Windows 8
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4x USB 3.0 ports
- 3-in-1 memory card slot and HDMI along with audio jacks
That sounds all good and pretty run-of-the-mill, but the world’s largest tablet to go on sale also packs something else behind it all. You can detach the display transforming it into an 18.4 inch tablet. This one is running Android 4.1, NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad-core chip, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, microSD card slot and Wi-Fi as well as mini-USB 2.0 connectivity along with the standard Bluetooth 3.0.
Those of you who think that those plebeian 10.1 inch tablets don’t cut it, the Asus Transformer AiO is the tablet to get. The device will be available in North America in the second quarter and will set you back a hefty $1,299.
Are you looking forward to getting your hands on one of the largest tablet/desktop (only one actually) combos out there?
