Gigabyte dropped the ball on the GSmart G1355 dual-SIM Android smartphone recently. The device is their newest attempt at entering the mobile sector and it doesn’t seem like it could stick.
The specifications of the Gigabyte GSmart G1355 are set in the lower spectrum. A single-core 800MHz processor from Qualcomm, 512MB of RAM and Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be running this handset. A 5MP main camera, Wi-Fi and HSPA connectivity are on board along for the ride. Specs wise, this will not turn heads, yet the 4.3-inch WVGA display might get some attention.
With a weight of 170 grams and a bland design and color, the Gigabyte GSmart G1355 could be successful only if pricing is right. Dual-SIM alone cannot bring potential buyers on board.
The release date is set for this month, but with Mobile World Congress starting shortly, Gigabyte could release more details on it.
